How to Play
What You Need
- A 40-card Italian or French deck (remove the 8s, 9s, and 10s from a standard deck)
- Paper and pen for scoring
Card Values (for sum captures)
- Ace = 1, 2 = 2, 3 = 3, 4 = 4, 5 = 5, 6 = 6, 7 = 7
- Jack = 8, Queen = 9, King = 10
Setup
- Deal 3 cards to each player
- Place 4 cards face-up in the center — this is the table
- Set the remaining deck face-down nearby
Gameplay
- On your turn, play one card from your hand face-up
- Rank Capture: if your card matches the rank of any table card, you take both
- Sum Capture: if your card equals the sum of two or more table cards, you take all of them
- If you cannot or choose not to capture, your card stays face-up on the table
- When both players have played all 3 cards, deal 3 more each
- Continue until the full deck has been dealt and played
- The last player to capture any cards also takes all remaining table cards
Chkobba (Sweep)
- If your capture clears every card from the table, that is a Chkobba (sweep)
- Announce it out loud when it happens — this is a celebrated moment
- Each Chkobba scores 1 additional point at the end of the round
Scoring (at end of round)
- Most cards captured = 1 point (no point if tied)
- Most diamonds captured = 1 point (no point if tied)
- 7 of Diamonds (la seba) captured = 1 point
- Primiera = 1 point (best card combination across all four suits; 7s beat all others)
- Each Chkobba = 1 point
Winning
- Play multiple rounds; first to reach 11 points wins (some play to 21)
- Announce the target before starting
