What You'll Need
About This Game
Flip cards instead of rolling dice. Build the best 1950s suburb by numbering houses strategically.
How to Play
SETUP: Each player receives a scoresheet showing three streets with 15 house plots numbered 1-15. Place the card deck in the center. Players sit opposite each other with their scoresheets visible.
GAMEPLAY: On each turn, flip three cards from the deck, revealing two numbers and one special action card. Both players simultaneously choose ONE of the two numbers to write on their scoresheet in any empty house on any street. This is the key decision point in Welcome To—while you see the same cards, you must decide independently where to place your number.
Numbers must be placed in ascending order left to right on each street. Once a number is written, it cannot be erased. The special action card (like "Move" or "Duplicate") provides one-time bonuses that players can apply strategically.
After all three card combinations are revealed and numbers placed, discard those cards and flip three new ones. Continue this process until all scoresheets are complete (typically after 10-15 rounds).
2-PLAYER ADAPTATION: Welcome To plays identically with two players as with more. There's no hidden information—both players see the same cards simultaneously, making it a race of strategic decisions rather than luck.
SCORING: After gameplay ends, score each completed street:
- Complete streets (all 15 houses numbered) earn bonus points
- Houses with matching numbers earn additional points
- Incomplete streets score based on the highest numbered house
- Penalty houses (marked with X) deduct points
PLAY RESTRICTIONS: You cannot place a number in a street if it's lower than the rightmost filled house on that street. This creates tension—you need high numbers eventually, but placing them too early blocks lower numbers.
WINNING: The player with the highest total score wins. Unlike cooperative games, there's no shared goal; you're competing directly.
