🃏 40-card Italian deck or standard deck with 8-10 removed

About This Game

Italy's most popular card game, a fishing game where players capture cards from the table by matching values. Sweeping the table clean (scopa) scores bonus points.

How to Play

  1. Use 40-card Italian deck (or standard deck without 8, 9, 10)
  2. Deal 3 cards to each player, 4 face-up on table
  3. On your turn, play one card to capture table cards
  4. Capture: play card matching one table card's value
  5. Or capture multiple cards summing to your card's value
  6. Face cards (J=8, Q=9, K=10) capture only by exact match
  7. No capture = add card to table
  8. Clearing table = scopa (1 point); mark with captured card
  9. When hands empty, deal 3 more from stock
  10. End scoring: most cards (1pt), most coins/diamonds (1pt), 7 of coins (1pt), highest primiera (1pt)
  11. Primiera: highest sum of best card per suit (7=21, 6=18, A=16...)
