About This Game

A strategic game combining elements of Go and Tic-tac-toe. Players place stones aiming to get five in a row or capture five pairs of opponent's stones.

How to Play

  1. Played on 19x19 grid (or smaller)
  2. First player places stone on center intersection
  3. Alternate placing one stone per turn
  4. Win by getting exactly 5 stones in a row (6+ doesn't count)
  5. Or win by capturing 5 pairs of opponent's stones
  6. Capture: place stones on both sides of exactly 2 opponent stones in a row
  7. Captured stones removed from board
  8. Tournament rule: First player's second move must be 3+ intersections from center
  9. No stone placement restrictions otherwise
